Frederik De Meyer

Vice-President

The son of entrepreneurs in Gent, Belgium, I was exposed at an early age to different languages and cultures.  During my engineering studies, I organized several activities embracing internationality and promoting intercultural exchanges via VTK (Vlaams Technische Kring) and BEST (Board of European Students of Technology). In 1999, I moved to Nürnberg to learn German and immerse myself in German culture.  I worked in the headquarters of a large international company, seeking global responsibilities, relations, and exchanges. Since, I have lived and worked in many countries abroad, including China and Switzerland.
I discovered my hunger for education principles in 2008 when I was selected to contribute over 12 months in the foundation “Stichtung Neue Verantwortung”, a Think tank for digital technologies, politics and society. My task was to understand, discuss and provide proposals to the German government about the local higher education system.

Since 2007 I live in Strasbourg, father of 3 children, where I seek the best of education, based on my personal experiences, not only for my children, but for all those who show interest in a better connected world of tomorrow.
